Each chassis is a self-contained unit that houses the blades and distributes power. Up to fourteen R Series chassis (112 blades) or seven A Series chassis (70 blades) can be mounted in a standard six foot rack.
The R4300 Series includes a chassis and modules that provide all the connectivity and management features necessary to house PC Blades with the highest levels of flexibility, scalability, and reliability. When combined with ClearCube management software, the modules deliver unique capabilities such as hot sparing, blade switching, hardware remote control and out-of-band blade management. The chassis is based on a modular, redundant architecture that can be configured to optimally support ClearCube C/Ports, I/Ports or both.
The A3100 Chassis houses and protects A-Series blades in a secure rack mounted, 6U enclouser. The A3100 Chassis with the included Expansion Backplane gives chassis management, cable management and connectivity into the blade. It featuring connectivity to USB 2.0 devices, dual networking ports per blade (for supported blades), and PCoIP connections to support the I9400 series I/Ports.
The Digital Fiber Transceiver converts the copper signal from R-Series or A-Series blades enabled with the V5100 series desktop extension host adapter into a fiber optic signal for transmission to the Digital Fiber C/Port on the user's desktop. A single Digital Fiber transceiver can support up to 16 PC blades.
The Chassis Rapid Mounting Kit is designed to aid in the installation of a ClearCube Chassis into standard 4-post rack environments. Using the kit, a single installer can easily and securely mount a Chassis in under two minutes with only a standard screwdriver.
