New London Hospital Selects ClearCube Technology as a Pivotal Piece of its Comprehensive IT Makeover

ClearCube Puts Unparalleled Technology Tools at Care Givers' Fingertips Throughout the Hospital Network

HIMSS 2006, San Diego- February 13, 2006 - ClearCube Technology, the market leader and pioneer in PC Blade computing, today announced that New Hampshire-based New London Hospital is deploying a PC Blade computing solution throughout its acute-care, long-term-care and physician practice facilities as an innovative and groundbreaking approach to position the organization as a technology leader in the region.

Dave Foss, senior director, information systems at New London Hospital, said ClearCube has been instrumental in the facility's ongoing renovation of its IT infrastructure. In particular, Foss highlighted the out-of-the-box solutions provided by ClearCube that enable New London to create a first-of-its kind care setting in the northeastern U.S.

"Appropriately so, IT infrastructure is not our users' primary focus so anything we can do to minimize the intrusion of this hardware while also increasing its reliability, serviceability and uptime just makes perfect sense," Foss said. "I was quite intrigued right away by the ClearCube solution and its remote management capabilities. The very design of the solution greatly reduces the need for my staff to work in, or even enter sensitive clinical areas, and the ability to maintain and monitor all of the core hardware in our secure, climate- and power-controlled areas is wonderful. Since our initial implementation we've had extremely positive feedback with users commenting on phenomenal performance improvements."

The ClearCube solution removes the traditional PC from the care environment. The traditional PC is replaced by a PC Blade that allows the hard drive of the computer to be centralized in a secure data center, while a small user port is placed on a mobile computing workstation. Prior to the ClearCube deployment, New London Hospital depended largely on older equipment from the late-1990s running outdated OS software. Since deploying ClearCube, however, reduction in noise and improved performance are just two of the many benefits that New London Hospital has experienced.

"New London Hospital needs to access critical information quickly and accurately from anywhere within its network, but the ability to access this information created serious security risks and raised overall health concerns," said Carl Boisvert, president and CEO, ClearCube Technology. "ClearCube provides a highly secure and innovative solution that enables access to information at the fingertips of care providers - and at the highest levels of efficiency."

In addition, New London Hospital employees have submitted positive feedback on the decrease in noise, dust circulation and heat at individual workstations, as well as the security and space savings that the technology has provided. The ClearCube solution is being implemented across all of the organization's departments.

New London Hospital is in the midst of implementing a brand new healthcare information system, with a goal to move 100 percent of the facility's workstations to the ClearCube solution.
