ClearCube Builds NVIDIA Quadro® NVS Graphics into PC Blade Workstations

The ClearCube Multi-Video eXpander Brings 4-head Video and
3D graphics to Trader and Government Workstations

Austin, TX – June 13, 2003—ClearCube Technology, the market leader in PC blades, and NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, introduce a multi-video solution that supports up to four monitors per PC Blade across a single Cat 5 cable. The offering, built on NVIDIA Quadro NVS workstation solutions, interfaces with the ClearCube Multi-Video expander (MVX) via the ClearViewÔ driver developed through a partnership between the companies. ClearCube’s exclusive centralized architecture combined with Multi-Video capabilities results in the ideal solution for space constrained trading floors and other applications requiring multiple displays.

“NVIDIA Quadro NVS workstation solutions offer ClearCube customers tremendous image clarity and flexibility with our nViewÔ multi-display technology,” said Jeff Brown, director of workstation product development at NVIDIA. “NVIDIA® workstation solutions extend the productivity available to ClearCube customers and are backed by the broadest application certification program in the industry.”

The ClearCube multi-video solution includes the MVX - a unique accessory for the C/Port that provides a revolutionary way to multi-task and process information. Working in conjunction with the NVIDIA Quadro solution on the PC Blade, the MVX can independently drive up to four separate displays. Additionally, the MVX can drive monitors with traditional analog VGA or digital DVI interfaces. The ClearViewÔ device driver, based on NVIDIA nView software, controls screen setup and configuration. All this functionality is delivered to the desktop over a single Cat-5 cable.

“To be competitive in this market our customers must react very quickly to surprise and events, this requires more content to be driven to the desktop, and single monitors cannot handle this deluge of information,” said Mike Frost, president and CEO of ClearCube Technology. “The NVIDIA Quadro enables the ClearCube solution to deliver up to four displays per workstation to the desktop, helping our customers to better manage the incoming stream of content and to react to their business needs.”

ClearCube’s solution is simple: take the computer off the user’s desk, shrink it into a blade form-factor, centralize it in a secure location, and remotely switch and manage users between blades from anywhere in the world. The result is over a 30% reduction in operation costs, server-class availability (99.9%), and vastly improved end user mobility. This architecture also improves desktop manageability and control over computing assets and corporate data.

NVIDIA Quadro NVS workstation solutions use the NVIDIA Unified Driver Architecture (UDA), a set of backward-and-forward, top-to-bottom compatible graphics drivers that optimize application performance, stability, and reliability. All NVIDIA Quadro NVS products feature the NVIDIA nView multi-display technology and OpenGL® quad-buffered stereo capability, extending the productivity available to users.
